christopher21 Member	posted 04-19-2005 12:40 PM I recently filled out a personal question survey for a police department. One of the questions asked, "have you ever committed (whether you were caught or not) any of the following offenses...." One of the offenses was driving under the influence. I admitted to this, as I have gotten behind the wheel within the past year when I probably shouldn't have (I wasn't falling down drunk, I just probably shouldn't have been driving). I thought this was kind of a loaded question, and I just want to know if this type of thing is usually an automatic disqualifer or if I should be okay. I take the polygraph on Thursday, any info would be greatly appreciated. IP: Logged
Capstun Member	posted 04-19-2005 03:00 PM As it has been posted on this site many times, we don't look for Saints. If we did, we would't hire many officers. Agencies know that people make mistakes. What police agenies will not tollerate is lying. Honesty and integrity are two of the most important qualifications a police applicant can have. I don't know of any agency that would disqualify you for admitting you have driven when you shouldn't have. If you make a regular habit of it, then you might have a problem. Regardless, tell the truth. Honesty is the best policy. IP: Logged
