I plan on applying for the FBI. I thought about the polygraph test and I have never done any drugs, or gotten into fights, etc. Perfect record. The only thing I feel guilty about was when I was 16, I had just gotten my license and one night it was pitch black and I slowly backed up into a black parked car. The car was illegally parked and blocked me from pulling out. it took me at least a few minutes to figure out how to pull out of the spot. I then left. I looked at the car and there was no marks or dents because I was on the brakes going very slowly. Does this disqualify my from passing? Is it even worth applying with this on my mind? IP: Logged |

I can't imagine it would even be a speed bump in the road. You will have had to have disclosed it long before you get to polygraph, I would think.IP: Logged |

I agree with Barry....it's no big deal. Obviously it bothers you so get it off you chest early in the application process. Also, don't downplay it: "it was dark"-"it was illegally parked". Bottom line is that you bumped another vehicle which may or may not have been damaged and you failed to notify the owner. Hardly the crime of the century. Just be upfont and honest about it and you should do fine.Best of luck in your career! Ted IP: Logged | |
