I work with people who have ALS- (Lou Gehrig's Disease), and who can't speak. Some of my clients reach the point where they are totally locked in (i.e. they can't move any muscles, and can't move their eyes).
I am corresponding with someone whose son is totally locked in. He uses a polygraph for communication- (they scan through the alphabet, and he gives a response on the polygraph when they get to the letter he wants.)
There is communication software out there for people who can't speak. This family would like to know if there any way to integrate a polygraph with software based communication software? (In a sense, the polygraph would be acting as a "switch")

ALS IS PART OF THE MSA FAMILY AS YOU KNOW.
THE TYPE OF SOFTWARE YOU ARE SEEKING IS KNOW AS "SPLICEWARE" OR "SOFTSPLICE" IT INTERGRADES THE I/O (INPUT/OUTPUT) LOGIC BETWEEN BOTH PROGRAMS. IT REQUIRES A PROGRAMER OR A FRIENDLY "CRACKER" TO CUSTOMIZE IT TO WORK BETWEEN BOTH PROGRAMS
HOPE THIS HELP YOU SOME.
