1. John Grogan - Part II Coming Soon - by Ralph Hilliard

I have a few things to discuss here so please bear with me.

First, I sent an email out to you all on Friday 28th regarding John Grogan being exposed for the fraud he is on live radio. For those who don't know the background, there was a live radio show that aired a couple weeks prior where John was a 'guest' on the show to talk about whether the "Moment of Truth" TV show was real polygraph. On that show Jack Trimarco called in and dropped an 800lb gorilla of truth about the REAL John Grogan, the one who I covered in the Relevant Issue #138. The Host, Tom Leykis decided to withhold judgment as he stated he had no evidence either way if the claims about Grogan were true.

In the next few days, several examiners including Jack himself attempted to contact the producers of the show to offer up the evidence they needed and our hopes was for a follow up segment to show that Jack was telling the truth and John was indeed squirming in his seat with that 800lb gorilla in his lap.

So on friday, I got word that there would indeed be a follow up segment that day and I sent out the notice. After three grueling hours of listening to the show on Friday, there was no segment on John Grogan. Why? I don't know...yet.

Second, when I listened to the original show it was not live but rather an mp3 file. I fast forwarded to the parts that pertained to John and Jack and did not realize how misogynistic (women hater's club) the rest of the show usually is, and it turns out the majority of the show on Friday ended up being on that topic. My sincere apologies to any and all women who did listen to the show based on my email alert as well as anyone else who felt like vomiting after the show was over.

Third, if you would like to listen to the original segment that did include Jack and John, you can use the links below. Please be informed that somewhere in these segments are clips that will likely be offensive to some so listen at your own risk. I will tell you that the important segment starts just under halfway through the first mp3 file below. Fast forward there if you so choose.

Fourth, I am preparing a followup article to be published here that includes new information we need to get to the public and all examiners about John Grogan. Stay tuned for John Grogan Part II.

P.S. My email box is open, so please keep me informed of any hot polygraph news and I'll do my best to help spread that to others.

2. National Polygraph Association Seminar in Las Vegas by Kay Docter

Editor's Note: Before I get to Kay's article, I wanted to say that it was a real pleasure to attend the National Polygraph Seminar in February. I was impressed to find that it was way more than old friends taking an opportunity to catch up and gamble...which frankly is what I had been told about NPA by other examiners. I found the seminar to be run in a professional manner and the speakers, in my opinion, were relevant and interesting. And after a full day of learning, you still get to go gamble. I'm sort of a video poker junkie so I enjoyed that tremendously.

I believe the NPA has something to offer, especially for private examiners, that they aren't receiving anywhere else. I encourage you to give them a second look, maybe plan on getting your continuing education hours in Las Vegas next year. Now on to Kay's article.

National Polygraph Association, Inc., 2008 Seminar in Review: - by Kay Docter

The seminar as usual went very smoothly.  As Chairman of the Board, I am always most appreciative of those in the association that work so hard to ensure that the instruction provided is informative, useful in running our businesses and get the best for our hard earned money spent.  The planning and arrangements for subsequent seminars begin even before to the current seminar is over.  Preparations made and time spent is voluntarily and without remuneration for the never-ending effort. The most difficult and time consuming portion of each seminar is arranging speakers and topics that appeal to most, if not all, examiners.

In regard to speakers and topics, this seminar was no different than those in past, on the whole, speakers were informative and provided some useful insight and perspective.  I was told in the beginning of my polygraph career in 1999, that if you can take one or two ideas from each seminar, then it was money well spent!  This seminar as well as those in the past I have been able to justify the money spent.

An “expert speaker” and an “expert in the polygraph profession” is a horse of a different color.  Formal education teaches the skills of speaking and presentation but does not compare to the experience of those examiners with years and longevity in administering polygraph examinations.  The experience from the entire process, beginning at the pre-test interview, behavior analysis, chart collection and review, through the post test interview cannot be found in any text book or manual. Examiners who are fortunate enough to be working in the polygraph trenches daily are the true experts in this profession.

As for venue, I think Imperial Palace is comfortable, like an old pair of sweat pants or slippers. We all know where it is, aware of what hotels, restaurants, shows, etc. are nearby and the room prices are certainly affordable. On the other hand, the hotel is in great need of remodeling, updating and cleaning. I have heard that some of the rooms are dirty, have had mold and mildew, lack hot water at times and are substandard at best.  It would be nice if another venue could come even close to prices charged at the Imperial Palace.

4. Polygraph Misinformation Site On It's Way Out? I hope so. by Ralph Hilliard'

I received the following email a few days ago, most likely by accident. I can't imagine Doug wanting to own and sell these ebooks that most likely contain 'borrowed' misinformation from his own products. Regardless, I'm just glad to see that they may go out of business soon. It is quite the sales pitch, complete with a little sucking up to Doug.

Date: Tue, Mar 25, 2008 at 10:52 AM

Hello sir, this is *******. I am the owner of www.police-test.net and www.polygraph-test.net . After years of having successful sales from both sites I am finally in the market to get rid of these sites. Rather then just take them down while they are still generating revenue I figured I would offer them to my competitors first. Many things can be done with these two sites to benefit yours and boost your sites ranking. Both sites share naturally organic first page results for the keyword Polygraph Test on Google. www.police-test.net also has a naturally organic first page result for the keyword Polygraph on Google. As if that weren't good enough they both also share first page results on Google for the keyword Lie Detector Test.

These two sites bring in about $30000 each year combined. You are the first competitor I have asked because I think your site actually provides the best info and has the best chance of helping the most people. Please let me know if you would be interested in purchasing these two sites and all that goes with them. I am open to discussion on the price for both sites. Each site has thousands of keyword specific links pointing to them. With the purchase of these sites you would be able to boost your ranking considerably! Please get back with me ASAP and let me know if you would be interested in this offer. Have a great day Doug.

5. In the Private Forums - "Marston Polygraph Academy - Grievance brings side benefit. No more anonymous complaints."

A partial post from the examiner only private forums:

"The APA has, since the initiation of the investigation in that matter determined that it will, in the future, require that before an investigation is undertaken on the basis of a complaint made against an accredited APA school, such complaint must be in writing and identifying the name of the complainant.."

What? Not yet a member of the FREE private forums for examiners only?
The private forums now have so many examiners registered I just stopped keeping count. The wealth of knowledge, information and wisdom that has amassed here is staggering. If you are an examiner, come and be part of this growing community.

Registration is a three step process.

1. Fill out the registration form.

2. After submitting the form, you will receive an email from the automated system with a username and password. Forward that email to me (support@polygraphplace.com) and include proof that you are an examiner. License, School, Department, Association Memberships, etc. If you do not provide something that we can independently verify, you will not be given access.

3. Be patient. We have to verify your information and once we have, we'll authorize your login and be in contact with you.

6. Polygraph Place Offers - "Polygraph Place hits new high of over 54,000 unique visitors in March 2008. Can we send some of that traffic to you?"

The Polygraph Place has seen tremendous traffic growth in the past year. For those of you who have listings with us, you've probably received the automated 'reminder' notices that your listings are about to expire and in that email you may have noticed I quoted traffic numbers at 15,000 unique visitors per month. (NOTE: unique visitors is a more accurate presentation of traffic than 'hits' because one unique visitor can have hundreds of 'hits' on a site during one visit) . I was really impressed when I first wrote that email which is now sorely out of date. The Polygraph Place had 54,231 unique vistors in the month of March. That is our all time high and things seem to keep growing.

What does that mean to you? Maybe nothing, but if you do any nature of private testing, you may be losing polygraph leads that you could have had for as little as $25/year.

We enjoy helping examiners get business as well as 'look good' while doing it. I'm referring to the professional websites that we design in addition to advertising opportunities. Maybe its time you started advertising with us or maybe even time to increase your advertising with us. Thanks for all your support. The services you purchase from us help us keep our free services like this newslettter up and running.

Polygraph Place Services:

  • Advertising - A range of opportunities from $25/year to $145/month.
  • Web Design - Professional, Custom Sites starting at $750
  • Polygraph Merchandise - Tshirts & Jewelry available at our online store.
