2. APA SEMINAR RESULTS: "Exciting Times" by Nathan Gordon
EDITOR'S NOTE: My
apologies for the delay in printing
this article. I did receive it promptly after the
seminar had ended. Ralph
The 41st Annual Seminar
of the American Polygraph
Association held in Las Vegas this week is coming to a
close. There were many excellent presentations on a
variety of topics including data analysis, PCSOT testing,
new technology in the detection of deception.
Guest presenter and
speaker at the annual dinner was
Aphrodite Jones, Author and Fox News Analyst.
The following members
and awards were presented:
William and Robbie
Bennett Award: Stuart Senter, Ph.D.
Cleve Backster Award: AAPP accepted by Don Imbordino
Al and Dorothea Clinchard Award: Sidney Arios
Leonard Keeler Award: John Schwartz
David Motzinger Award: Jamie McCloughn
John E. Reid Award: Don Krapohl
The most significant
developement was the excitement and
anticipation created by the new administration selected
to lead the organization over the coming year. Larry
Wasser, the existing Treasurer retired after serving our
organization for over 19 years.
Our leaders for the
coming year are:
Donald Krapohl, President
Nate Gordon, VP Private
Donnie Dutton, VP Government
Michael Gougler, VP Law Enforcement
Donald Weinstein, Board of Director
Dan Sosnowski, Board of Director
Roy Ortiz, Board of Director
Steven Duncan, Board of Director
Vicky Murphy-Carr, Secretary
Chad Russell, Treasurer
T.V. O’Malley, Chairman of the Board
New President Krapohl,
in his acceptance speech spoke of
moving our organization further toward professionalism.
He pledged to bring to the organization a vote for
constitutional changes for a “President Elect” system,
voting by mail to allow more members to be involved in
the election of officers, and a requirement for
“Continuing Education” as a requirement for continued
membership.
I think it is clear
that these are exciting times. As a
new member to the Board I wish to thank those who
supported me. I am looking forward to the coming year.
I believe we are about to see changes that will have a
positive affect on our profession and organization for
years to come.
Nate Gordon
VP Private
