1. EDITORIAL: "Bits and Pieces"
******
As a public service announcement, I wanted to let
everyone know that the Mississippi Polygraph Association
seminar has been rescheduled. The new dates for the
seminar will be November 8th & 9th in Philadelphia, MS.
More details are available at the bottom of this
newsletter.

I received a nice note from one Charles Beck after he
was helped by our great group of moderators and
contributors on the polygraph place bulletin board.
Thanks everyone for being so willing to help folks out
who come to board seeking help.
"This site was a Great
help in getting needed
information quickly. Answers from professionals
with knowledge is very helpful. I don't think I
would have received information on the specific
subject matter anywhere else."
Thank You,
Charles Beck

If you have a listing on the polygraphplace.com, would
you take about two minutes of your time to answer two
questions for me? I have set up a zoomerang survey with
only two questions on it. Thanks so much.

2. POLYGRAPH TIP: "For the Traveling Polygrapher"
FAR better (and cheaper) than
a spare laptop battery!
We frequently perform examinations
in the field where
electricity is not available and connecting to a vehicle
is not an option. The battery of each laptop will
usually last for one or two examinations. A spare
battery for each laptop is more than $200.
A better option: a Xantrex
PowerPack. 400 watts, size
of a small music boom-box, runs 12volt or 115volt
products for hours anywhere. Quality-made, professional
appearance, 20 pounds, easy to use. Digital information
to tell how much power is left. Can even jump-start a
car with it. Has performed well for us over the last
three years. Can re-charge it at office or in car.
About $100.
See photo and data at:

4. TRUE POLYGRAPH STORY: "A Polygraph Inquiry"
by Bruce Hoffman
What sounded like a young
adult male called me recently and
inquired about taking a polygraph. He said his girlfriend
had accused him of cheating on her. I asked him if he had
and he said "Yes."
Next, I asked him, "If
I test you, I will be asking that
same question, how will you answer it during the test?"
His reply was, "I would say no because I think I can beat
the test."
I then explained to him, that's
all well and good but in
my report I would say you admitted it. His final reply was
"I guess I better not take it then."
