1. EDITORIAL: "Polygraph Place attends the APA Seminar in
San Antonio, Texas. Dramatic results for one of our
new advertisers.
This was easily my
favorite APA Seminar yet. First and
foremost, it was a joy to make this annual connection
with all our clients, readers, supporters & friends.
My wife and I had
a great view of the Alamo from our
hotel room and watched daily as thousands filed in and
out to view that slice of history.
The highlight for
me was the Awards Banquet. Skip Webb's
slideshow of those on whose names and lives the annual
awards are based upon, added a classy element to the
presentation of the awards.
To top things off,
Congressman Ted Poe was an excellent
speaker.
I don't think anyone
would disagree that the Board really
brought the banquet to a new level of professionalism and
excellence this year.
On a business note,
thanks to all our new clients and
friends who gave us a chance to bring them some more
polygraph business in the coming year. I'll close with
this email I received from one of those new clients:
"Dear Ralph,
I just wanted to let you know how
impressed I am with the Polygraphplace.com. I listed
myself on the site while at the conference in San
Antonio in the evening from my hotel room. The
following evening, after returning to my room and
checking email; I found that I had received two
emails from potential clients who had found me
through my new listing and were requesting polygraph
appointments. Great site !!!"
Thank You,
Ben Galarneau

2 NEW POLYGRAPH LITERATURE:
"Evaluation of Polygraph
Charts: Formats, Criteria and Scoring"
by Tuvia Shurany
While at the seminar,
I was able to spend some time
speaking with Tuvia Shurany and he took a moment to
show me his impressive new book on Chart Evaluation.
I encourage everyone
to pick up a copy for your library
of polygraph literature. Here are some details and how
to order:
Evaluation of Polygraph Charts:
Formats, Criteria and Scoring
The book provides both the student and the graduate
examiner with an excellent means of refreshing their
knowledge regarding the interpretation and
quantification of polygraph charts. The book contains
polygraph charts from confirmed field cases that
employed various validated polygraph techniques,
each scored by either the authors of those techniques
or the instant handbook.
The book provides
readers with a most useful tool in
honing their chart interpretation skills.

4. FEATURE ARTICLE: "An overview of APA at San Antonio"
by Nathan Gordon
Roy Ortiz did an
excellent job organizing the APA's 2005
annual seminar.
There were over 700 members in attendance, of which over
100 were from foreign countries.
After a presentation
of our colors and an excellent
rendition of our national anthem by Jennifer Le Bel, the
membership was introduced to the famous Texas Rangers. Talk
about a name from heaven, the history of the Rangers was
given by CAPTAIN CLETE BUCKALOO.
The lectures were
excellent and covered varied topics from
PCSOT to techniques, interviewing to data analysis, actual
examinations to abnormal psychology.
There was a great
ranch dinner with live entertainment. We
got up close and personal with some "longhorns." It was
hard to tell what was more impressive about Skip Webb this
year: his line dancing or the tremendous slide shows he put
together for the formal dinner which gave a 40 year
history of our organization and re-introduced the members
to who each of the annual awards presented honored.
T.V. O'Malley, described
as the hardest working member of
the APA was elected president. The APA board now consists
of:
OFFICERS:
Skip Webb: Executive
Director
T.V. O'Malley: President
Michael Gougler: Vice President Law Enforcement
James Earle: Vice President Private
Donnie Dutton: Vice President Government
Larry Wasser: Treasurer
Vickie Murphy: Secretary
BOARD MEMBERS:
Donald Weinstein
Daniel Sosnowski
Roy Ortiz
Steve Duncan
San Antonio proved to be an excellent selection for our
40th Annual Seminar/Workshop. The Alamo was special and
the Riverwalk was excellent. it proved for a "hot" seminar
- the friendships were hot, the lectures were hot and
certainly the weather was hot!
