The New Kids
on the Polygraph Block - An Interview with Limestone Technologies
back to article index
While at the AAPP
Seminar in Hilton Head, I had the
opportunity to meet Jamie Brown and Craig Hansen of
Limestone Technologies.
After 4 days of chatting with
them between sessions, I
have to say that I was really impressed. I got the overall
impression that Limestone is a fresh, eager company
committed to serving the polygraph community. So that you
can get some insights into this company, I have printed
an interview I conducted with Jamie Brown, the President
of Limestone Technologies. Ralph Hilliard - The Polygraph

INTERVIEW WITH JAMIE BROWN
- LIMESTONE TECHNOLOGIES
*********************************************************
RALPH: Jamie, you guys appear to be the 'new kids' on
the polygraph block, tell me a little about your company.
JAMIE: Limestone is a private
company based in
Ontario, Canada. Although we are the newest of the
polygraph instrument providers, we have over 30
years of data-acquisition and solution development.
We've become well known as a solution provider for
many university research projects within North
America and the UK.
Our mission is to provide
quality forensic software
and hardware tools that are engineered and built
based on client feedback.
RALPH: How did you end up
making a leap into the
polygraph instrument business?
JAMIE: We were invited! While
attending conferences
of the Association for the Treatment of Sexual
Abusers, examiners lamented that there had been very
little change or innovation in their industry. So
they challenged us to create a product to meet their
evolving needs.
We were already providing
instrumentation for
Phallometric and Viewing Time Assessment, so we
took on the challenge and created the Limestone
Polygraph Professional Suite.
Limestone has made it possible
for forensic
professionals to access all three testing methods
from one solution provider.
Looking ahead, we plan to
offer services to selected
polygraph schools in the US. This will include new
course curriculum for Phallometric and Viewing time
testing which will complement the sex-offender
polygraph certification.
We will also be offering workshops
at several US
locations in the coming year.
RALPH: So what is unique about
Limestone Technologies?
What do you bring to the table that is new in the field
of polygraphy?
JAMIE: Innovation!
Our Polygraph Professional
Suite offers a choice of
visual and/or audio presentations during an examination.
This is exclusive to our Limestone instruments. An
examiner can easily associate crime-scene photos with
traditional questions, within the examination template.
This is especially powerful when using the concealed
information/guilty knowledge paradigm. The examinee
uses a second computer monitor, a television or a
lightweight set of V/R eyeglasses to view the stimuli
presentation, while the examiner exercises control
through a typical laptop computer.
The Polygraph Professional
Suite is also the only
product that enables digital recording of the complete
examination. It includes tools that allow the examiner
to record audio/video of the pre-interview, the exam
and the post interview. All you need is a simple USB
digital audio/video camera. The audio and video is
spooled and archived on the computer. Later, data can
be retrieved and viewed on the chart viewer.
The best part is that the
audio/video is synchronized
and time aligned with the actual physiology, for easier
scoring and evaluation.
Finally, the Limestone instrument
is the only product
which incorporates bio-metric digital-fingerprinting
for easy capture and recording of the examinee's
digital signature. Another feature gives the examiner
the choice of including his own fingerprint in the
session's record. This way, the printed chart can
be digitally 'signed' by both examiner and examinee.
RALPH: Sounds like you have
some exciting new
technologies in place...how can examiners find out
more information about your Polygraph Professional
Suite?
JAMIE: We have a great deal
of information on our
website, which you can view at:

You can also call
613.634.2594 or email sales@limestonetech.com
RALPH: Thanks Jamie. I look
forward to seeing you at
the APA seminar in Sparks, Nevada
